Surveillance Detection Training for Security Guards

Most terrorist and criminal attacks are preceded by a period of surveillance. Surveillance is a physical activity which can often be observed by trained personnel. The purpose of this training is to teach security personnel how to identify and respond to static target surveillance at your facilities.

Surveillance detection works on the simple principle that watching is a verb—an action. If someone is watching you, they can be seen watching you. Because of this, surveillance detection is a method you can use to greatly enhance site protection. It helps your guards to focus their efforts by watching those areas that have the highest likelihood of use by adversaries to watch your facility.

Surveillance detection helps to disrupt potential attacks simply by letting the surveillants know that they have been seen, often with a simple question like 'may I help you?' It is interesting work, and you will see a higher level of engagement by your guards. It also sends a clear message to criminals and extremists: you are paying attention, and they will be seen.

This training takes three to four hours and can be conducted in person or over a web conference. It will include a pdf copy of the slides plus a detailed handout that describes the process.
